The impact of VR on pre-operative anxiety

A meta-analysis was just published by a group of researchers from the university of Seoul: on a sample of 813 patients, it appears that virtual reality reduces the level of pre-operative anxiety (as measured by an “anxiety score”) in a general manner. However, the difference between the control group and the group using VR is significant in the sub-group of teenagers-child while it cannot be considered as such in the sub-group of adults. The impact of VR on pain is no longer to be proven (article to follow…) but it is worth reading that recent study to understand how the impact varies according to the context and the age.
